ROBOT League Update for October 14th

  • This is a reminder that our first official league event will be taking place next weekend, Saturday, October 20, 2012.  Middleton High School will be hosting a Build It Day and all teams are invited to come practice on the field and learn construction, electronics, and programming from other teams.  Please respond to this email and let me know if your team will be attending and how many students/adults will be attending.  The Build It Day event will start at 9am and end at 2pm.
  • I have great news on the tournament front.  In my last email update, we were struggling to finalize our January 19, 2013 tournament location.  Team Hal 9000 from Winter Haven has volunteered to host the tournament at the Polk State College.  Thank you to Hal 9000.
  • Yesterday, October 13, 2012 we had our field and referee training session at the Largo library and received the “tournament in a box” kit from Michael Coleman.  Now that I have the final list of electronics that Mike Coleman is providing and I also received our referee kit from Mark Wasserman; I can now finalize what we will need to purchase to support our four tournaments.  The other good news is our field passed inspection and we are very close to having everything we will need to run our tournaments.  Thanks to Maurice Dobbins, Bob Howard, Karin Howard, Jason Howard, Alison Roth, and Marian Manganello for participating in the training session yesterday.
